The Inoui Editions Square 130 “Papillons” in Red is a 130 x 130 cm wool scarf featuring a detailed butterfly motif. Designed in France and made in India, it’s a versatile piece—wear it around the neck, drape it, or style it as a top. This piece is full of colour and has a whimsical feel to it.
The design reflects the signature style of Lise and Mathilde, founders of Inouïtoosh. Their work draws heavily on natural forms, colour, and movement. Each scarf begins as a hand-drawn illustration in their atelier in Baie de Somme, then comes to life through traditional hand-looming and printing techniques using natural fibres.
The result is an expressive wearable piece of art.
This “Papillons” design marks the brand’s first use of butterflies. The composition takes cues from Art Nouveau, with a slightly richer, more layered feel. The butterflies themselves are based on drawings by early 20th-century French decorative artist Émile-Allain Séguy.
Each piece sits somewhere between accessory and artwork—functional, but with clear creative intent.
